Mary Anne Oxendale is on a life-long quest to keep scaring herself silly with new and improbable living arrangements. She is currently based in Shanghai, where she teaches at a university (for money), takes tons of photographs (for pleasure) and writes (for sanity). She maintains a long-running blog to remind her of where she has been, because after fifteen years of traveling it gets hard to remember sometimes.

hey mao,
so this is your new blog? what about yaramaz? also are u smoking now never seen you smoke !!
have a nice weekend:))
Yaramaz is still alive and well- this site is just my warehouse where I keep all my various sites together so I can find them (see the Writing page). And no, I’m not smoking- the Facebook photo is of Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders. It’s Doppelganger Week apparently, so you must put up a photo of someone you have been told you look like. I’ve been told I look like her.

Hi Tran, thanks for your kind comment! I’d be interested in having my writing on your site but I thought I ought to tell you that I’ve actually shifted a lot of my writing (particularly 101 Things, now serialized) away from Away and over to my own hosted site http://www.ephemeraanddetritus.com. You can still find the 101 Things there under categories, and I’ve added quite a few things since I stopped adding to Away (which is now kind of in stasis). Have a look through that to see if anything interests you. I’m always happy to keep writing.
Regards
MaryAnne
Wonderful! Got a few things to go over with you, is there an email address I can write to? Thanks!
Tran
I can be found at koangirl at hotmail. I’m also koangirl on Twitter if you want to find me there
